AI images & descriptions

NShop puts Vertex AI to work across your catalog so you can list products faster, even without a photo studio or a copywriter. Everything is preview-and-approve — nothing reaches the storefront until you click.

Product images

On any product's edit page (/admin/products/<id>) the Generate a product photo with AI panel offers two ways to get a clean catalog image.

Generate

Describe-free generation: NShop builds the prompt from the product's title and description, and feeds the product's existing first image to Imagen as a subject reference so the result keeps the right product. Add an optional style or angle tweak, pick an aspect ratio, and generate.

• Clean white background (on by default) produces a seamless white, e-commerce catalog shot. Turn it off for a lifestyle / in-context scene.

Edit the current photo

Transform the product's existing first image with one click:

• Clean white background — replace the background with a seamless white studio backdrop, keeping the product in front.
• Remove distractions — swap the surroundings for a clean minimal backdrop, removing clutter and stray objects around the product.
• Enhance quality — upscale and sharpen for a higher-resolution image.

Each edit lands as a candidate you can approve and add to the product.

Category images

On a category's edit page (/admin/categories/<id>) the Generate a category image with AI panel creates tile imagery from the category name and description. Approve a candidate, then Set as category image — that saves straight to the category and the homepage shows it as a visual tile.

Product & category descriptions

Next to the description fields on the product and category edit pages, Suggest with AI drafts copy grounded in your shop's context (name, industry, country) and the item's own details — in the language of the field (English or Dutch). Review and edit before saving; nothing is stored until you save the form.

Workflow

1. Open a product or category.
2. Generate or edit an image, or suggest a description.
3. Preview each result. Regenerate, tweak, approve, or discard.
4. Approved images upload into the right Storage folder, where the Resize extension produces the responsive variants automatically.

Why preview-and-approve

Nothing reaches the storefront without your click. The platform never auto-publishes generated images or copy — you stay in control of what shoppers see.

Costs & limits

• Image generation and edits run through Vertex AI in your own Google Cloud project, billed directly to your project (NShop adds no markup).
• A per-tenant monthly quota caps generations and edits combined; the panel shows usage and resets at the start of each month. Ask your platform admin to raise the cap if you need more.
• Edits replace the whole background rather than masking individual objects, which is the most reliable mask-free way to clean up a shot.
• Failed generations (content-policy blocks, model errors) surface a clear reason so you can adjust.
